Jonny, the other link to the cover art was taken down by imageshack because of the high volume of hits on it. They don't have the bandwidth. Here's a different link:

Cover Art 2

Also here's a link to a downloadable file of the Reba-Kelly performance tonight. Ain't the internet great! :)

I love their performance. Simple, understated and moving. They both looked lovely, also. The amazing thing about 'Because of You' is that Kelly wrote it when she was just 16. Now it's a Grammy-winning pop smash and Kelly won a coveted ASCAP songwriter's Song of the Year award for it. And its on its way to becoming one of the true standards of our time, likely to be covered by many artists in years to come. I wonder how Country music fans will receive this beautiful duet. It isn't really true Country, although Reba gives it a twang.

Lastly, here's an interesting article from The Village Voice about Kelly's struggles with Clive Davis and RCA. Can you believe they wanted Kelly to put a cover of a lame Lindsay Lohan song on her new album? It's a song that was on LinLo's last album. That was confirmed by Kelly in a recent interview. No wonder Kelly fought so hard to do her own music. The album may succeed or fail, but at least she's not doing the usual airheaded commercial formulaic pap the record companies keep shoving out to the music-buying public. And then they wonder why music sales are falling. Un-frickin-believable! The music boards and entertainment media have been all a-twitter about this struggle with RCA. The LinLo thing about put everyone into a mental ward. ;-)

I know Carrie wants to do some writing or co-writing on her next album. I sure hope they don't put her through the same wringer.

As for Kelly, she said she's the one who has to sing the songs every day, so why shouldn't she at least sing something she likes. Also, she says she has enough money, so if her instincts are wrong on this album and it fails, at least she didn't sell out. Brave girl, 'cause the likes of Davis and RCA can squash her career like they were swatting flies.

If you haven't heard the news yet, Kelly will be on the AI finale this year.

I think country has evolved over the years and has enough branches on its tree to find a niche for post people. My mother complains that country isn't country anymore.

I didn't realize that Lohan was such a successful singer that Kelly should have to cover her. I would have thought it would be the other way around. Or perhaps that is the purpose, they want to legitimize Lohan by having Kelly cover her. Glad Kelly chose to fight it.

Hi jonny! Sorry I couldn’t post last night, we had company. Last night’s show was great! I know i’m one of the few, but I really did like Blake last night. Anyway, I fear he will be leaving tonight....( I like the New Wave type music :/ But they all did really well.

She’s the one who should have won. Miranda’s been around a WHILE. Taylor has a bright future & a fantastic personality. She actually writes her songs & doesn’t have to depend on someone else to do it for her. Sweet sweet gal who deserves good things to happen for her.

Unless she’s had a birthday recently she’s 17.

Morning, Wolfstar :)

Un-frickin-believable!

LOL! I had the same reaction.

Lohan is a trainwreck, the complete opposite of Kelly. Why Clive and RCA would force her to sing that crap is .... well ... I was going to say it's beyond me, but it's not. They just want to make a quick buck off Kelly and to hell with her "career" or her own creativity.

Thanks so much for the cover art to her album--I like it! If I take my eyes out of focus, it looks like Kelly is a rose surrounded by thorns. Seems appropriate ;)

I’m sssooooo not enthusiastic about this years final outcome.

Me either ;)

It's going to be the most anti-climactic finale since Season 2.

If I wanted a picture of Jordin in her “3rd song” dress from last night, where is the best place to look?

Anyone?

I thought he asked for a pic of Apollo One!

Thrusting action for sure...but in a different way I'm afraid.

Here’s today’s “prediction site” listing:

AOL Poll has:
Jordin
Melinda
Blake

Dial Idol has:
Melinda
Jordin
Blake

But due to the “margin of error” and being so close, they are as usually copping out by only predicting that one of the three contestants will go home.

Tradesports has:
Blake to go trading at over 70 right now.

All in all, I suspect Blake will go but it looks like it’s going to be a very close race.

It’s pretty clear from last night that Simon does NOT want Jordin to be in the finals. She was in the “1st is the worst” position. He dissed 2 of her songs. The one HE picked he said he didn’t like but it was the “arrangement.”
The last song (Which was the best vocal of last night) he dissed by saying she was too young to sing it.
He also pimped Blake's third song which was “just OK.”

But the biggest questions of the night are:

1) Will Ryan Seacrest discover how to use a razor?
2) Will Blake wear Argyle in the cheezy Ford video?
and
3) How drunk will Paula be?

What is your theory as to why Cowell doesn’t want Jordin to win?

Re-read my last post. *and one from last night

Simon basically trashed Jordin for no reason last night. He made up some crap about her song being “too old” for her. The same Simon who picked “Over the Rainbow” for McPhee last year. She was like 22 and the song is from the 30’s. Come on!

He wasn’t too complimentary of her first number, which he picked.

There’s also a problem with going first. When you sing first you’re more likely to get voted off. Jordin went first.

Simon has also been pimping for Blake. His should have trashed his first song for being too Karaoke if he was consistent. He didn’t. Blake's 2nd song was pretty good but Simon pimped his third song which was just ok.

Combine all that with the fact that he’s never liked someone “under 20” to win the show. (Remember his dislike for Diana Degarmo?)

Hope that helps clarify.
