Inspirational story. Sherman, 64 years old, his wife of 20 years was dying from cancer (she died the Friday before this audition) and she wanted him to try for Idol. So he's here for her.

He gets in with 300 signatures on a petition.

He sings beautifully, not because of talent, but because he's sincere.

The judges give him a standing ovation. Simon wants to shake his hand. He gets a hug and kiss from both Paula and ONJ and a hug from Randy.
