You forgot the "I have a cold" excuse. I sing so badly today because I have a cold..... That one drives me nuts as well.

Yeah, a lot of them suffer with colds at one point or another during the process. IIRC Jennifer Hudson suffered through two consecutive weeks of 'having a cold'. I don't recall if she was booted after the second week of her cold. If so, she still sang pretty good and shouldn't have gotten the boot when she did, but I think that season was rigged for Screamtasia from the start.

I felt bad for the guy attacked for his looks, but I have ZERO sympathy for Amy "I have a cold, can I get a drink?" Salgado. I did NOT think it was at all cute when she publicly dissed her husband on national TV. That little spiel about how my husband's not supportive but that's because he's scared I'm gonna go to Hollywood and leave him with that snarky little aside about his fears being "sort of sweet, but-". You don't mock someone you supposedly love and cherish publicly like that, and IMO she did mock him. And it's painfully obvious that unsupportive in this case means he wouldn't join her in her fantasy world in which she has talent, and he tried to protect her for what he knew would be the judge's harsh critique. Tone deaf she is-but it might have been better if he'd done the old 'record them when they're unaware and then play it back for them' routine. In any case, her remarks about her husband got my back up, and I was glad when she got shot down.
