Seattle offers stupidly weird silliness, and you can just tell the most population of anarchist must reside there.
***& HEART who I still love***
Aren't they great? I saw them on one of the
HD music channels just last weekend. Very enjoyable.
Keep in mind that the producers put those weirdos on TV. There must have been some normal people there.
Actually, Seattle (in general) is a very pleasant city! We lived very close to there (in Kent, a suburb) for six years and went into the city frequently. Seattle has a terrific opera company, a good ballet company, lots of nice places to shop, and the most gorgeous weather in the summertime. Also a lot of very nice, open, friendly people. We greatly enjoyed living there and tried to go back after my husband finished his degree, but couldn't find a job for him there. I'm afraid Seattle as a whole has been ill-served by displaying only the "grunge patrol" and their weirdness for two hours on national TV!
Oddly enough, Seattle does have one big talent pool: writers. I used to joke that it was something in the water. There is a HUGE writers' community there, especially for SF and fantasy, and many of the ones I knew there were very talented (and some of them were famous, at least in SF). I'm in No. California now and finding a *good* writers' group to work with here has been just impossible ... but in Seattle it was a matter of deciding *which* one you wanted to join! Have no idea what the difference is.
Hey, good to see you on the new thread. I look forward to your commentary. :)
