my point is that situations can be advisable/desirable/lamentable irrespective of whether they are going on in one's home or not. as i said, this is public knowledge, a public statement was obviously issued. it is fair game for discussion in the larger context of the culture war.
Did you read your book I sent you. Just so you know; lesbians like Mary WANT this taught in the public schools.
Who said it was? Can we stay on topic and not have emotional outbursts?
You said, and I quoted, It is none of your business what people do in their own homes.
Obviously this "principle" is not true.
People having children out of wedlock, a generation of fatherless children is not just something that happens in the bedroom. It may not be illegal, but it is ill-advised and, in general, a burden to society.
I find it interesting that "libertarians" want to shut down free speech because all choices are equal and "who are we to judge".
Maybe they aren't libertarians at all, just liberals who like a good tax cut.
well libertarians are NOT conservatives, so perhaps you are right.
Thank you for the kind words. It's nice to talk to someone who doesn't go to either "what if the father is killed in an industrial accident, does that make a single mother wrong?" or "do you want to put people in jail?" extreme.
You are being intentionally obtuse. I am sorry that your life is so boring.
my life is quite fulfilling actually, but my 18 year old daughter and i lamented the sad state of affairs in our culture/society, yesterday when we heard this story. it is lamentable don't you agree? You see, i talk to my kids about right and wrong and what is good for society and that which is inadvisable, in the context of current events, so that they are not inured to the degradation of our society. if one doesn't provide a moral framework for one's children and leaves them to absorb the morals of popular culture it is even more lamentable.
Grow up and start thinking about something other than "I want what I want and I want it now."
Until I look at the taxes removed from my paycheck every Friday.
I'm not recommending any gov. action at all, but I have a right to my opinion and in my opinion anyone that purposely brings a child into the world w/o a father is selfish.
Wedded to the State......what a deal.
Not a problem.......the State will take care of you, as they tax the rest of us to death.
Well, that's what Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell told us, so it must be true.
Post 92 is for you as well; some of us see through the deception.
Exactly. That's the problem we need to address. I'm not sure why some people are so concerned with whether Muslims who want us dead approve of our morals.
I was sitting here patiently waiting for someone to invoke Falwell and Robertson......you didn't disappoint. Quicker than I thought, I'll say. Your move.
Well, they're the ones who made that statement at the time, so if they didn't want people to "invoke" such stupidity later, they shouldn't have done it. :)
