America didn't just die. America's been dead for a long time. The conservatives who didn't vote aren't the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that so many people could actually vote for the obvious socialists of the Democrat party. They don't even believe in what America was supposed to stand for. They think things like individualism, freedom, liberty, and independence are republican dirty tricks. (Yes, I'm talking about you, Detroit.)
The problem is the one, which is very rarely mentioned in Republican circles:
Democrats have long insisted that corporations control the GOP. Except when you look at how GWB follows relentlessly toward open borders, and "free trade", both of which are devastating our industrial and wage base - those Democrats appear to be right.
Republicans need to be pro-AMERICA. Not pro Mexico, or pro-corporation. We're no longer looking out first for that shining city on the hill.
We're selling it. Bit by bit.
Unfortunately, you are totally right. I just have always believed that America had it in her to fight one more good fight and do what was right. This is the first time since Clinton that I've been disappointed by America and the decisions of her voters. Quite a high price to pay for a little frustration. All these "great conservatives" who think the GOP had it coming, all the geniuses in this thread, in a few months they'll be crying like babies for the weak GOP majority that will cease to exist in January.
"They think things like individualism, freedom, liberty, and independence are republican dirty tricks. (Yes, I'm talking about you, Detroit.)"
And at the same time they voted the ammendments down conservative lines. (excluding the dove hunting one) It is truly amazing that they voted conservative policies in and socialists politicians in. I just don't get it....
