The Fair Tax will abolish the IRS Horse hockey - there's still going to have to be some sort of gov't bureaucracy to collect the funds.

Horse hockey - there's still going to have to be some sort of gov't bureaucracy to collect the funds. Why? 50 clerks instead of 130,000 agents who hide behind masks to testify before congress.

Actually under the FairTax, the state would have a sales tax authority to collect and forward the tax from the merchants. And the merchants and the states would both be paid to do so.

You're right there will be some sort of government bureaucracy. It will be the existing Treasury Department
Fair Tax FAQ #10. Retailers will collect the fee and send it to their state taxing authorities who will in turn send it to the Treasury Department. I Suggest you visit
Americans For Fair Taxation website, specifically the
FAQ's to familiarize yourself with The Fair Tax.
