I live in Amish country, Milroy, PA near State College. Amish cannot use electronics such as telephones. You will find no computers, TVs or telephones. Their business' can use cell phones.

The Amish family that rented a house from my parents had permission for a phone. Their daughter was born with terrible medical problems. My dad got permission for them to have a cell phone until they could get a land line for their house. After their daughter was OK, the land line was disconnected.

We live close to the Amish here in NE Ohio. They use what they need to get by, as many work outside the home now. Still don't drive, the ones working on my home are driven in someone else. I couldn't ask for harder workers on my home.
