It's all spam, I tell you. Just spam, spam, spam. You've posted all of these word and phrase definitions before many time on FR. You know the rules. Why do you think you need to post them over and over again? Posting them again and again and again, well, that's just spam.

The poll can be freeped. I just logged off, closed down my browser, cleaned out my cookies and cache, and it let me vote again. Um, is that what it means to "freep" a poll? I just thought it was a call to freepers to go vote once. Perhaps you meant to say the poll could be DUmmed?

You want to see the definitions list again???? Several times????

I don't think it's spam. I think it's a valuable contribution to people who just do NOT understand (or who stubbornly ignore) the meaning of the word "theory" in the context of math and science. They think it means "conjecture," or speculation, a notion how or why something may or may not have happened. That's NOT what "theory" means in the scientific sense or in the mathematical sense. Coyoteman can't post this stuff enough, if you ask me. I love the evolution threads because they are so educational, and Coyoteman is an excellent source of info. I believe in God and I accept evolutionary theory. The two are NOT exclusionary. Refusal to see that they are is based solely on human pride.

Ah ... er ... I mean, refusal to see that they aren't mutually exclusive, etc. Something like that!! ;^)

Thanks for the ping. I share the same views as you. I also concur with a newer member's view that ID could, perhaps, be introduced as a part of a philosophy curriculum.

I also concur with a newer member's view that ID could, perhaps, be introduced as a part of a philosophy curriculum. I never had a philosophy course in high school. I don't know how many public schools have such courses. No problem with me if it's included in such a course. However, it's been demonstrated rather conclusively that what's called ID today is really just a disguised form of creationism. That got spelled out quite clearly in the Dover litigation: Kitzmiller et al. v Dover Area School District et al.
Whatever ID may be, it's not yet science. They don't do research, they don't publish any results in scientific journals. Biotech firms don't hire ID researchers -- and they would if they thought anything could come of such work. The ID people don't have anything scientific to show for all their public relations efforts. If ID ever develops into a science, I think it should be in a science class. Until then, it's just an idea -- a lovely idea, but not science.

I see non-members can vote. As they have been in all other polls.

I don't believe the FR is a Libertarian site.

Wow. Those numbers came out just about how I expected them to come out, and they mirror pretty closely GOP opinion polls.
It seems this poll is pretty darn accurate, which is surprising given it's been done on the web.
But then again, it's not all that surprising that freeper opinion would mirrow broader GOP opinion. We pro-science conservatives have our work cut out to make our party the voice of reason once again.

Wow. Those numbers came out just about how I expected them to come out, and they mirror pretty closely GOP opinion polls. At the moment, 33% of registered freepers are voting "No." That is, to keep creationism and ID out of science class. I wish it were more, but I'm pleasantly surprised that a third of freepers are of that opinion. Well, maybe I shouldn't be surprised. My pro-evolution ping list is one of the biggest lists on this website, currently pushing close to 400 names. There are bigger lists, but the evo list is one of the biggies. Or so I'm told.

A lot of liberals are creationists too. Especially do-gooders. I think this is one of the issues that cross politics.

A better poll, and more pertinent to Free Republic would have been:
Do you believe the theory of evolution is an important topic for the advancement of conservative principles?
Yes
No
Undecided
Not worth discussing
The current poll is a very narrow window of interest for most FReepers.

I'd rather vote for Nancy Pelosi as Queen of the USA than let you have any say in how I educate my children.
