How is anti-semitism defensible? There were all kinds of suspicions about Gibson's view of Jews around the release of The Passion.

He seems to have confirmed that with his statements while under the influence.

And, he could have killed somebody.

I defended him last night because I could not fathom that someone like Gibson would be this stupid.

Dear sinkspur,

I didn't say that anti-semitism is defensible.

However, it isn't unbecoming to avoid kicking a man when he's down.

He will be held accountable for his actions.

What he did was foolish, stupid, and evil.

However, beyond that, he has only my prayers. Addictions are a nasty business.

I think the antisemitic remarks are going to overshadow the driving while drunk. He's darn lucky he didn't kill someone. He's a father of 7 I believe. You would think the man would have more sense than that--for the sake of his own kids and the sake of other people's children.
