Aha! Not all ants are equal! There's always some imperialist ant, called the Queen, who enslaves the worker ants and lives in profusion off their toil.

Ants are war-mongers and flesh-eaters, too. Just try to enjoy your white wine and brie on a picnic. The ants will be there in five minutes, eating the cheese and running up and down your legs.

I remember when the fire ants arrived at our place in Florida. Now those are downright Daily Kos MoveOn type ants. Won many a skirmish with those critters, never won the battle. They killed the pollinators, swarmed all over our feet if we stood still a moment on our once functioning lawn, and sterilized the area of all life forms. Aggravate one, and the rest come swarming like trolls.

Consider the queen ants in their imperial gluttony, some joy they have, just as in liberal life, enslaved by their own system. A queen can't just get out of the nest once in a while to sample the brie or even to flirt with the metrosexual drones.
