I'll explain it to you slowly. Our school system began teaching from the Bible, because of liberal whining, the Fed decided that it has the exclusive right to indoctrinate, inculcate, young minds.

Now everything is being taught, from how to put a condom on a banana, to scientific theory, to the exclusion of the original system that was in place and one that the majority of Americans preferred.

It is only right that we demand equal time and equal access to the students mind.

As a foreigner, I appreciate that.

Our school system began teaching from the Bible, because of liberal whining, the Fed decided that it has the exclusive right to indoctrinate, inculcate, young minds.

Whoosh, that wasn't the promised slowly, that felt like about 200 years of the history of education in the United States blistering past me in one sentence. But never mind.

Now everything is being taught, from how to put a condom on a banana, to scientific theory, to the exclusion of the original system that was in place and one that the majority of Americans preferred.

Preferred a Bible-only education? You really are going way to fast for my comprehension here...

It is only right that we demand equal time and equal access to the students mind.

But the logic--such as it is--of your post would seem to be to demand (your term), not merely equal time, but a return to "the original system that was in place and one that the majority of Americans preferred."

Isn't that what you are actually advocating?

Ms. Pie,

I'd like to understand the basis of your "demand". Do you believe that ID is science, or do you believe that non-science should ALSO be taught in science class. The champions of the ID movement are very specific in their claim that ID is not religion....it is science.

Clearly, the foundation of your belief in ID is religious, but I'm wondering if you've been convinced that ID belongs in the realm of science or if you simply want to be able to challenge any scientific theory that you percieve to be a threat to your religious beliefs.

Miss Pie,
You appear to have missed the boat on democracy as well as science.

The system in place is precisely what the majority wants until it votes otherwise.

A patriotic American scientist

"It is only right that we demand equal time and equal access to the students mind."

Its unfortunate that you feel that way. It seems you want to replace the facts (physically available data points) used by science to explain our existence with the 'facts' of the Bible. How is your desire to insert your beliefs any more 'free' than the restriction of science to science class, math to math class and health to health classes? Is your desire more or less totalitarian in nature than what secular society requests?

What is taught in science class is necessarily restricted to science, to do otherwise would quickly open the door to such things as pyramid power.
