Australia was joined to South America and Antarctica at the time.

How do you know this? Were you there? Has anyone reproduced this in a lab?

Yup. In fact. We can demonstrate the joining of those particular rocks by digging up fossils, and observing rock layering, etc.

Besides, you find the same animals in both places.
