Anyone watching the press conference about the accidental shooting in Texas?

What keeps McCellan from taking off his shoe and throwing it at these people?! I'd last a nanosecond in that job. They keep badgering him about the EXACT time of everything. They're pissing over a few hours!

You're missing the point......entirely. We're talking about the press here and how they're not going to let this story go.....no matter what. And sometimes you should just say "our bad" and take the lumps.

Which is exactly why I'm not watching this mess.

I've been wondering what happened to his brain! He *used* to be real level headed. I think it's that Rita Cosby B!atch over at MSNBC. They are going F1 speed straight to the left, and I can't figure it out.
But... I can't stomach Fox or CommieNewsNetwork. *feh* But I'm a junkie. I do so love turning on the TV at 5am to watch Don Imus though... I love him. ESPECIALLY cuz he's such a jerk. Especially to those that deserve it.

22 hours is not a long time to wait to release details of a relatively minor hunting accident to the press. There is no such thing as a "relatively minor hunting accident" when someone gets shot.

Respond, yes...repeating it over and over again with escalating obnoxiousness, no.
Admit it, you fell into the trap of enjoying flaming today. Take a deep breath and step back from the table.

Why should it matter? He was on an afternoon outing! It's crazy that not even the President or the VP gets an afternoon to himself. *feh* Well, I guess if the celebs don't, the politicians don't, either. Gawd, I'm glad I never went to UCLA and I'm *real* glad I'm only interested in sideline politics!

It was 18 hours over a weekend - short of the VP as the person being shot or someone dying, I don't see a problem with the news release.

I agree with you that hunting accidents are no joke, but the rest of your post is BS. This isn't newsworthy in the least, and certainly the timeline involved has absolutely no relevence. The press is pissed that they couldn't find out about this early on and slander the VP and later claim that they didn't have all the info or got their info from a source.
McClellan should say, "we aren't going to answer questions about the incident; it was an accident and it has nothing to do with government."

Because it's a pretty damn significant news story when the Vice President accidentally shoots someone, don't you think? Being peppered with birdshot is not the same thing as being shot. It isn't unusual for someone to be peppered with birdshot on a bird hunt. I don't think it's even considered an official "gunshot wound".

Funny, the ones doing most of the flaming are those responding to me.

OMG...reporter comparing the hunting accident to Chandra Levy. That was an amazing leap.
Hearing the repeat on C-SPAN, the reporter was asking about the New Orleans levee break, not Chandra Levy. The question was about the confusion and amount of time it took for the President to find out what happened in the shooting accident, comparing it to what happened with the President not knowing about the levee break.

Being peppered with birdshot is not the same thing as being shot. My gawd, all that's missing is the word "is". Oops, it's in there.
