SAFETY HARBOR, Florida (AP) -- Terri Schiavo's former husband has married his longtime girlfriend, friends and family members say.
Michael Schiavo and his longtime girlfriend, Jodi Centonze, were wed Saturday at a church in Florida. The bride's brother says it was a very emotional ceremony.
Schiavo's former wife, Terri, had suffered severe brain damage more than a decade ago and died last March after her feeding tube was removed.
Michael Schiavo had argued his wife was in a vegetative state, and would not want to be kept alive artificially.

The newlyweds first met in a dentist's office and began a relationship after Terri Schiavo was already in a nursing home. They have two young children.

I don't do vigils, as I prefer to do my praying for others in private, without drawing attention to myself. If you were the least bit capable of understanding the written word, you would know that I not once expressed any support for anyone's "barbaric murder," least of all Mrs. Schiavo's. But then, if history is any indication, I don't hold out much hope that you'll ever pay attention to the facts in this matter.
That's great news that you supported Terri's inalienable rights guaranteed by the Constitution. Too bad she didn't get to enjoy her life and liberty, isn't it?

It's all too common, but the fights used to be more over wills or lack of them. I hope you two can somehow reconcile. How can your poor mother rest in peace with that going on, her ashes being held hostage? I feel very sad for you and your mother whom both of you surely should realize would not have wanted it to come to this in this situation. It sounds like a childish power play.
Is there any way your father can arbitrate this sorry mess? My father had a horror of something like that happening in the family, and planned everything very carefully and fairly to do everything in his power to prevent such a thing.
I remember childhood bickering, but when push comes to shove, I try to give in rather than have a falling out with my sister. That would be disrespectful to my parents' memories.

What situation? Your pissiness at being busted? You said that Michael Schiavo is a low-life for killing his wife. Unless he murdered her, this makes no sense. Weaselly word games don't change that.
You keep shifting the burden of proof. If the burden were on everyone else to prove that Ms. Schiavo wanted to live, then the only way to carry that burden would be to prove that Mr. Schiavo and his brother and sister were part of a conspiracy to muder Terri. However, the burden of proof is on the people trying to prove that she really wanted to die.
A burden satisfied by their testimony.
Their statement alone does not adequately carry the burden, because they are interested parties.
Your only evidence that Michael was an interested party is that he filed the motion which was his duty as her husband. Your only evidence that Scott and Joan were interested parties is that they are related to Michael. Unless you claim they had something to gain through her death, they are not interested parties in the sense in which you are using the term.

Hi, floriduh. I, for one, admire your persistence on this thread. We must never forget how Terri was murdered by her husband and the state of Florida, aided and abetted by the ACLU and Michael Schiavo.
I hope wife #2 has all her wishes expressly written out, and duly notarized, in case Michael gets tired of her.
The other day, in the presence of some of my children, I remarked about Sharon, and said, "Why don't they let the poor old guy go?"
Then I stated loudly: "Do not take this as any kind of Living Will statement on my part!!!"
We do have to be careful what we say about end of life issues these days.

We know he filed the motion. We don't know his motivation. You claim to know it; I do not.
It's terrible what families can do to one another. You have my sympathies. In my case the fun and games happened after my mom's funeral. My aunt is a retired nurse, and flew out for the service. I went and laid down when we got home on her advice(had a minor stroke several months previously), and my oldest daughter started in on her about "the money". I'm still embarassed.
At least no one challenged me in my decisions about my mom's care, or her funeral arrangements. She had a plot next to my dad, and she didn't believe in cremation. Your mom's spirit is free, and hopefully so will her earthly remains soon. I don't blame you for feeling sick about it, I would be too. Your dad has a good guardian : )

Maybe we should email the Vatican? Right before Terri died, Pope John Paul II personally came out and said that it was wrong. So if a Pope says that, what is their POV regarding the nuptuals? Those two people should have just gone to another country and tied the knot.
Beautiful church isn't it? Reminds me of a church I saw in Santa Barbara, CA.
Now see, I thought they went broke and filed for bankruptcy in 1989 because of some bad investments. Which explained why the Schindlers were so desperate for that $700,000 trust fund.
But I guess I was wrong. I learn something every day on these threads.
