One of the posters on this thread is now sitting in a dark room feverishly collecting posts. Oddly enough, this same character went on defending the guy's right to be rude and abusive. Probably more out of unspoken agreement with Mirecki's sentiments.
I responded, much in the same manner as you mentioned in your post--that schmucks like Mirecki make these comments in a 'safe' environment, and they wouldn't dare say the same in a back alley or other less hospitable environments. If the story is true, then it bothers me, since Mirecki comes awfully close to uttering 'fighting words'. I can't say that I necessarily feel sympathy for the guy, but then again, it is regretful that society is coming to this--after all, the last acceptable bigotry seems to be slamming Christians, and it seems some are running out of cheeks to turn.
Let alone folks who make fun of other folks for "quote mining" only to do it themselves.
Some of these folks could use some better control, though. Not that I ever go over the top, of course. Who, me?
The leftist progressives of all stripes seem detirmined to push the majority of folk into an untenable position of either keeping to trasdtional values and being hideously derided for it or rejecting those values in the name of a Atheistic French style "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity" society. I think those who style them-selves as "moderates" including our pathetic RINO's sense the fight coming and are frantically trying to "negotiate" a make nice "middle ground" so that we can just all get along...they tend to bash Christians the hardest because Christian are supposed to be nice and peaceful and Christlike and all that "stuff".
There is a fight coming, and we'll all have to choose a side! There's been too much wind sewn, the whirlwind follows!
