He lives in town and the closest rural road from his house to IHOP is 31st street and that is a a four lane pot holed mess that is the "bypass" for 10 highway.
Wonder if a publican stopped to help him.
The two perps he speaks of? Probably a sock and a bar of soap. Just flip it back at himself and he could beat himself up pretty good that way.
The constitution does not and can not guarantee us protection from people inflamed to hostility by our ugly and taunting utterances.
Most police agencies have to triage their cases and don't do any major sleuthing on minor assaults. I would hope that this incident falls into that category. This butthole was lucky that it was a lite ruffing up.
I wouldn't be surprised either way. (But I won't take the bet. ;-)

The "pity me" defense is being used. Funny the type of pickup isn't mentioned. I'd sure know the difference between a Ford, GMC, and Toyota.
Police have issued an all point bulletin for the Neanderthals that carried out the attack.
Is this another liberal hoax? Now if he had insulted Muslims, we wouldn't have to wonder if there was actually an attack. The sheriff would have had to pick up the professor's head at the side of the road.
It gets him on the front page so his rants and hate of Christians will reach more people.

Mirecki said in a phone interview that the incident happened as he was “going out for breakfast, taking a drive and thinking about things.” He declined to say exactly where it happened, and the sheriff’s department did not release the location, except to say it was south of Lawrence.
Mirecki said that when the pickup truck began tailgating him, he stopped his vehicle hoping it would pass. Instead, the men pulled up directly behind him, he said.
“They got out, and I made the mistake of getting out,” he said.
Mirecki said the beating began almost instantly. The men punched him about the head and shoulders and struck him with a metal object, he said.

The sheriff’s office is classifying the case as an aggravated battery. On Monday afternoon, the office asked for the public’s help finding the suspects. Mirecki described them as two white males between the ages of 30 and 40, one wearing a red visor and wool gloves and both wearing jeans.

When told that some people were questioning the truth of his report, Mirecki fired back.
“The right wing wants blood, period. They’re not going to stop until they see blood. They’re not into anything else,” he said. “Whatever I do, whatever I say, they don’t believe anything because that’s the way they are... I know what happened. I got the hell beat out of me. They can say what they want.”

He bought one of those Clapper thingies to turn his lights on and off and one night, while returning home from grocery shopping, he opened the door, the Clapper turned the lights on, he dropped a can of Pork&Beans, the lights went off, he tripped over the fallen can, spilled the rest of his groceries, and the Clapper turned the lights back on.
He's just too proud to admit it.
It just goes to show ya that in this country we have free speech but you still have to pay for the consequences.
