I just found something.

Shango is not only a mythical god...he is also the lead character in a play by the Nigerian playwright, Femi Osofisan. The play is Many Colors Make the Thunder-King. In this play, Shango seeks the truth by confronting riddles. I am looking for the text but so far no luck.

The book is available at Amazon.

Here is a link to a review of the play as it was presented by Guthrie Labs (a theater company, I guess) in Minneapolis...

There is a book titled Crimson Monkeys written by Darren Franz. It appears to be a horror story. Don't know if this adds anything for those of you who keep up on the Shango angle.
