That was a joke.
The reality is -- America will still continue to lead in cutting edge technologies. Unfortunately -- and I have seen this with my own eyes -- many of the leaders in this field will be first generation Americans who are driven to succeed. That is to say, they have absolutely no sense of entitlement. They don't hold the belief that all Americans are entitled to a middleclass lifestyle filled with flat screen televisions, shiny cars and neatly trimmed lawns in front of houses that they own. They feel that hard work, ingenuity and perseverance only the only tickets to these things.
Secondly, the jobs are going and gone, and they ain't coming back. Never. Ever. It is impossible to put things back together the way they used to be. All those lost jobs belong to yesterday. There is simply too much money being made in the forward progress of globalization.
Third. People will either adapt or clean toilets. Adapting means learning a skill of high perceived value for which people are willing to pay a premium.
These points are not difficult. Yet some people have a hard time with them.

Fourthly, all we need is a few years of leaders with their heads screwed on right.
Rest assured, we WILL get them.
