But, there was an added drug. You can't make it go away. It factors in.

Natalee was reported to be a very responsible young lady. Even in her drinking. The meds would just prove her moderation. This IS important somehow.

You are correct, of course. But Jurine and the whole island is predatory (regarding young women from the U.S.). Predators enjoy having power over the victim. And they enjoy being the source of that power (giving them the drug).

I don't think it is so much about sex and hedonism as it is power over the touristes--power over America, on whom 40,000 jobs depend. You can see it in Jurines eyes.

I am surprised that his demeanor is still one of defiance instead of contrition. I suspect he is a sociopath, at least when it comes to foreigners.
