Apparently, the Sloots were not at the court house or we would have heard of it. Their absence certainly does hint of their not being on Aruba...perhaps to protect their 2 other sons?

Is it possible that the Kalpoe brothers' story of where they let Joran and Natalee off at the beach matched, but Joran's story did not match theirs?

Is it possible that they made a deal and gave info on Joran in return for getting released and must leave the island for their own safety? If so, could their "testimony" be used in their absence? Would they have to return to testify if there is a trial? If so, how could Aruban authories get them to return? I know...these are just my free-floating questions.

The dad did sign that waiver before he was released, so that's possible. It's logical he'd have to return to testify, so aruban law probably says he doesn't have to.

Do they have trial by jury in Aruba or does the judge decide? Either way, Joran is sitting pretty. Sly snake.
