i am just shocked at the suthreners thinking this way, i thought they were always up for people dropping by and they would offer lemonade and cookies etc. We have Cajungirl inviting people to NYs eve parties, and showing them the door well before midnight, carolinamom shutting the tvs off at 9 pm and telling her guests it is past time for bed, and nita locking the gate and turning the lights out and pretending she isn't home? i am shocked and appalled! ; ) yunz are my kinda people : )
Yes, these southern women may do such things to deter unwanted company BUT they always accompany their actions with a smile and a "Bless your heart, I'll pray for you!" and that makes it good.
