I would hope that all Catholics are "in favor of a one world religion with the Pope at the head," if by "one world religion" you mean one faith, one baptism, one God and Savior for the entire world. That's what "Catholic" means.
If you mean some syncretistic combination of all religions, that would be infinitely wicked. No Pope who tried to head something like that would even be the Pope, because he would not be a Catholic.
Someone else earlier on this same thread says that the Catholic Church purposely syncretized its religion with Rome's, to further the cause. If it wasn't evil in that case, why is it now? Last night on the history channel, there was a program on voodoo, for pete's sake, and how the Catholic religion had been incorporated into it.
If Benedict wants all of us under one thumb, you can be sure many of us, all over the world will die first. Would you want that?
