Terri was not, and it's an ethical consideration in her case. I personally think that MS went with the wrong ethics, and have argued for it, prayed on it, and struggled for it but he is within the letter of the law.
The Schindlers, bless their souls, in their grief and desperation, seem to have pushed the envelope of their cause to the point where I don't know where the truth lies and the demonization begins. I probably would have done the same thing in the same situation, if I were grasping at straws myself.
