Yeah, well, I can't say I have anything better to offer. It's a difficult problem.
One hopes that the individual state "incubators" will come up with an equitable solution. The Texas solution seems (to me) rather draconian in its reliance on the opinions of medical administrators (perfect examples of economically driven individuals, after all), and I can't say that I found the expedited process employed in the Sun Hudson case precisely satisfactory.
And the Florida solution... Well, the process wasn't on its face fatally flawed, but that process still gave us the resolution we find so repugnant.

"If a FReeper finds this an acceptable meansd to discuss this and other issues, they are welcome to join in and participate. Those who find pleasure in attacks, flame-baiting, slander, stalking, and personal atacks will be ignored, and their egos will go unfed." Thanks for the bump!

" Does this mean that non-WPPFF threads are not worth participating in?" It means that those who do not find them useful may post here without the nonsense so common on those threads. If you prefer to discuss the issue reasonably, as has been occurring here, feel free to join in. Most of us here have thus far avoided the other threads, as they are rife with the sort of problems the Manifesto points out. We try to avoid them here, and ignore those who try to bring it.
Notice, the posters who disagree with one another nonetheless keep it civil. If a person goes outside civility, or outside the decorum asked for, we simply post the relevant passage from the manifesto and thank them for bumping.

Manifesto: The discussion threads regarding Terri Schiavo (hereafter referred to as "TS") have become too full of innuendo, rumormongering, hyperbole, hysteria, namecalling, paranoia, and general poor behavior to warrant participation.
To: Peach
Well said Peach. Very well said.

Thank you so much, texasflower.
It's an unintended consequence, unfortunately.

Take an ethics class. Radical socialists advocate the extermination of all who are deemed "a burden on society", for "the common good". This includes the elderly and disabled. This goes a long way in explaining why the majority of democrats support MS. True. And why those praying to their manifesto god are hiding out here, because the TS threads do not warrant participation, and aren't realizing that they are feeding George Felos with their actions.
To: Kryptonite
Yes. If you agree, you are free to post here on whatever side you wish, so long as you keep it civil. If you disagree, or if you prefer other threads' atmosphere, by all means go there.
Those of us who irreverantly call ourselves the WPPFF do not find those threads useful. Thus, this thread, which I must respectfully ask you to please stop trashing. No one's forcing you to be here.

Can I be recognized as a charter member? I was in court all day beating back liberalism, socialism and statism.
To: unbalanced but fair
In Ohio, they have a law that states a person must have a Living Will to enforce removal of a feeding tube. But in December, the court over-ruled that. Do you have a cite to the court's opinion? I'm very curious as to their reasoning.

Listen to Dennis Praeger for about an hour. You'll be able to put your finger why you drifted away from Rush.
