Since he has not plastered his face in front of the media, I don't think he would qualify as a public person. I don't think it would be very hard to prove libel and slander on the posts here. I'm sure that there is a lawyer that would be more than happy to help Michael.
My sense is he won't do anything; until recently I'd never even seen his face.
