Depends on how much you value the life of the tree.

But again, you are determining whether that tree lives or not. Of course if you do not feed or water it, it is still subject to getting food or water elsewhere. We are denying Terri that option by Judge Greer.

I know this is hard to understand but I guess we are divided on just who is protected by the constitution to have life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, and whether or not man has the right to initiate death to another person.

What about Thou Shalt Not Kill? What about our strong stance against murder? Some of us apparently take these things more seriously than others for whatever reason.

Frankly I have a real problem making life or death decisions for any one for several reasons. My husband mentioned he did not want a feeding tube, etc. I let him know I just don't know if I could pull it even with his wishes as this puts me into the position of deciding on that person's life. I could do it with pain involved or intense suffering as I could not stand watching it.

We are all formed through our beliefs - each different.
I just feel this is God's area and not mine. I have let them die and not prolonged and I have even wished that they would die and not linger for another few months with no purpose.

But, I really worry about the motives of those inflicting the decision of death on others - it is not always with pure motives and then is a travesty.

"I know this is hard to understand"

Thanks for your kind and well considered thoughts.

I don't think it's difficult to understand as much as acknowledging people have differences of opinion. Whether that opinion is right or wrong rests in the soul of the person who holds it.

That said, I'm reminded of the line "judge not, lest yee be judged."

Collectively, we have a legal system and the sum of the people's opinions have been set down, rightly or wrongly in our laws.

A lawyer on Fox last night made the observation about the legal system and its recent criticisms.

We are a nation of laws. These laws are based on certain principles. We are now testing those principles and are we willing to live with the outcome? We shall see.
