That said, I feel that JackelopeBreeder was a valuable asset to this forum, and was one of the most civil participants on either side of the issue. Perhaps he could be reinstated under the condition that he does not discuss the Minuteman Project?

I support your assessment of JackelopeBreeder. I can't for the world figure out why he was banned and I've asked him about it and he doesn't know either.

JB is a good Republican. He's the Vice President of the South East Arizona Republican Club. He's just got a more intimate view of the border problem, given his geographic location, than just about anyone else on this forum. He's seen firsthand what is going on and people here would do well to listen to him. How many people here have stood yards from the border, in the brush, using night vision equipment to watch hundreds of border intruders stream by in the darkness? He's done this time and time again. He knows the problem firsthand like no other FReeper can claim to know it. We're not getting the full story from the MSM, the current Administration is outright mishandling and lying about the problem, and only a few in Congress have come down here to see it for themselves and who are working to actually do something about it.

This is not a localized problem, although the effects here in Cochise County are more obvious than other places. Wages are being depressed, jobs are being stolen, national security is being threatened, hospital emergency room sare being over run, cities are being crowded, crime rates are going up, overtaxed schools are being filled with non-citizens, and we're all footing the bill and facing the consequences of inaction.

Sure, there are some racists and whackos who gravitate to the border security cause just as there are who glom onto other causes. On a case-by-case basis, that stuff can and should be dealt with. But there are a few loudmouths who tar as racist, xenophobe, etc. everyone even the least bit concerned about illegal immigration. And they're given free reign to do it and I think we can now see some of the effects of their rancorous slander in the recent purge and website prohibitions. Meanwhile, as the DHS UAV saw when it observed 900,000 border intruders crossing in a 3-month period, we're being overrun.

I'm not here to debate why people have been banned because I don't know what happened. I've enjoyed FR since I've been on it, and I've found the moderators to be fair.

However, I will take issue with your last post. Everyone in America has an up close look at the problem because illegal immigrants don't take two steps over the Arizona border and stop. They come to every major city in the country. I get an up close look at the problem every time I walk in a store and cannot find someone who speaks English. I also notice when my pockets are picked by the government to subsidize the welfare of people who don't even belong in this country. Furthermore, I notice when the crime rates in my area go up because of illegal immigrant gangs.

The problem does stop in border states. In fact, those states don't even see a majority of the problems that are cause by the flood of illegal immigrants.

People say that these immigrants are filling jobs that no American wants. Wrong! These immigrants are filling jobs that no American wants to do for 4 dollars an hour. Maybe we should start electing illegal immigrants to the Senate and only pay them $10,000 a year.

Let me join those who congratulate you on your insightful post - It was as well said as I've seen. That said, one part of the post caught my eye:

"But there are a few loudmouths who tar as racist, xenophobe, etc. everyone even the least bit concerned about illegal immigration. And they're given free reign to do it and I think we can now see some of the effects of their rancorous slander in the recent purge and website prohibitions.

I too have been involved in numerous threads dealing with the Illegal issue and have posted directly to/from Jackelope. I have also observed the outrageous behavior of a number of Posters of the type you allude to and I had direct, unpleasant interactions with them as well.

IMO they are simply agitators who wish to shout, insult and otherwise bully their point across and, in the process, make a chaos out of what would otherwise be intelligent, reasoned debate of the matter. A real turn off and I would suggest that, if banning was an appropriate sanction for anyone in this matter, it is they who should have been banned from the start - but they weren't and I find that extremely disappointing.
