Is this what you're talking about?
Directed to me a few days ago:
"By your bio page, you reveal your personality to be more Cuban than American and your thinking is more Latino rather than Anglo-Saxon."
According to the individual who posted this to me, I'm genetically unable to "connect" with Anglo-Saxons.
And when comments like that are questioned, the folks who post it scream "race card!"
And they wonder why some people think racism is a potential problem on immigration threads.
Gotta watch out for those certain personalities:-)
You and I have disagreed in the past, but I'd actually consider that as an unintended compliment. Anglo-Saxons have been wrecking Europe for centuries.
Well, I think you were outed as a half breed Celt or something, and the Anglo Saxon tribe has historically had some diaagreements with Celts.
Moving right along, there is a racist element to it, but it is more nativist than racist, and more a manifestation of economic fear than nativist. In some fields of endeavor, the latter fear has some empirical justification, in the short run, and for those slaving away, the short run matters when it comes to economics.
The key here is to try to defuse rather than infuse. The latter is a cul-de-sac.
And there you have it.
