Topic? Well, we're all over the place. Rifles... NicknamedBob, do we have a shooting range in the castle somewhere?
Rifle range?
omg, I cannot believe we overlooked such a critical necessity!
Architect! Thou hast labour to perform!
The original castle had archery contests in the courtyard.
We have not established the exact dimensions of the metal-fence "basket" which supports the castle environs, but I think we can accommodate a shooting range outside of the castle walls but inside the metal fence.
I would suggest that all firing be directed into the ground, and away from the metal fencing. There is a possibility of ricochets, and I don't want our fence shot full of holes.
The slight depression on the exterior grounds in the Northwest quadrant... No wait, directions change here.
Consider the main castle gate to be six o'Clock, then maneuver to two o'Clock on the outer perimeter. It's just a little boggy, but will serve as a shooting area. You should be able to mark off 500 yards across that depression.
It's a lot of area to sacrifice for a single sport, but accuracy of firepower is a priority of the management, and those who indulge in this activity should not be surprised to be pressed into service should the need for defense arise.
Set up your officers, and don't forget to police the grounds. Remember the five precious metals -- platinum, gold, silver, lead, and brass.
Archery activities will continue inside the courtyard. See the appropriate notification boards for times and events.
