Now I have three dogs. They are starting to get old; when my little terrier goes, that will be particularly hard...but I will certainly get another pet afterwards. I am thinking abuot a Brittany Spaniel. I want a dog that goes with my reenacting period and can retrieve birds!

I'll concur. The new pet occupies a lot of your time that would be otherwise spent alone and mourning. I'm not much of a cat person but about 12 years ago I had a siamese. They are definitly one of a kind cats. I called mine meatloaf. He was a pistol.
