change your links? really? mine to this thread from my homepage worked just fine.

I dunno. I have to do some some investigation, but I'm still catching up from being away all day. Took the day off to be down in Olympia to protest against Seattle's Chicago-like election-stealing tactics.

Actually, though, Chicagoans are now pikers by comparison. We not only had the dead voting, we not only had had felons in prisons voting, we (here in King County, Seattle) had almost 2000 more votes cast than we even had voters voting! Take THAT, Chicago! Take THAT, New Jersey! So, when it comes to election-stealing, it's Seattle-like tactics. (Sadly, if successful, the Dems will propagate this. Watch you election procedures carefully.)

Seattle earns the Crown of Corruption. (No real surprise to those of us who live here.)

They are still fighting about some of it...but superstring theory still has the best chance of coming up with a GUT, imho...Hyperspace was a good read...but so much is cutting edge in this field that if you wait for books they are outdated...

The links have been working. I don't understand that stuff.

's okay. I'll check on it all tomorrow. For today, no "Thread ID", no ping. I'm about to be gone for the night.

Agreed. I'm starting to think that the human race will hit an Alpha point before we get the GUT figured out.

all well and good, if a simple MinR.618 x MajR ellipse did more than blink out and then reappear in the same location.

Unfortunately, for displacement and a definable vector a quadrilobal field is required, and the stressed focus on the interstices of the lobes.

I haven't found any hint that the stresses can be avoided. We shall be limited to hops of not more than 250 light years sidereal distance.

subsidereum is a term I coined for my gut intuition's requirement of a some-thing/where "underlying" (sub-) the sidereal universe.

Think of it more as the "bubble" being there to do two things. One: keep the ship and crew in a norm space enviorment and therefore viable. Second: create a phenomena whereby norm space becomes irrational at the field boundry. Any reaction mass "excreted" from the bubble, or other propulsive force, would have a disproportionate effect on the bubble itself. Hyperluminary. Think of it as pushing a "negative mass" with a positive reactive force.

Folding space you wouldn't have to worry about it. Two dots on a paper, fold paper. No problem.

Now, for a weapon, take that hyperluminal field bubble and brush it up against a, relatively, at rest mass. The boundry layer forces would rip it to shreds.

Again, take the field and use it to concentrate "gravity" into a packet. Enough gravity to create a microscopic black hole effect. Temporarily of course, but anything hitting the Schwartzchild would fare no better than the au natural phenomena.

Back to folding space. Use the co-ordinates of your targets mass as a "transfer from" point. Rip vital pieces of their ship/planet right out from under them.

Even assuming a 4D field is required, along with attended "hop" limitations, use a series of "motors". Plan your hops two or three ahead and feed them one on top of the other into your motors sequentially. Taking 1 millisecond hop to go 250L would put you in another galaxy before lunch.
