Excellent way of putting it.
That's not good enough. There simply is no marrying of arminains and Calvinists under an umbrella of "reformed" and calling it all "Calvinism". I've heard that one before in "the two great camps in the reformed tradition", etc.. Synergists are out and out Arminians who deny that God is His Word as gospel and need a word/speech for man (the one sin is and speaks through them) that is at-a-distance from God and not-God in order to allow the creature time and ability to 'decide' in order for there to be any so-called 'synergy' and grace not irresistible. I googled this link in less than a minute. (the query was "synergist reformed" and the writer links to another article of his in which he decries "hyper-Calvinsim"...) You will note the writer immediately equates synergism with arminianism--not Calvinism. Is it God's desire that all men be saved?
Here is a discussion under the same query in which another lying spirit tries to call himself a "synergist Calvinist" (and admits that 'all five points are intact except irresistible grace is altered slightly'.... and is immediately refuted. discussion
"Synergy" is just sin attempting to hold a 'middle position', meaning free will, "between" God as Word and God not-as-Word as the gospel. "Synergy" is out and out armianism and is the same old lie under, who knew, a new term. It is not Calvinism and never has been or will be in Truth.
