Jurors turn focus to Scott Peterson's fishing boat

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Jurors in Scott Peterson's capital murder trial want to see the boat the fertilizer salesman allegedly used to dump his wife's body in the San Francisco Bay, according to two sources close to the case.

The panel wrote a note to Judge Alfred Delucchi Friday requesting an inspection of the 14-foot aluminum Gamefisher Peterson took out on the bay Dec. 24, 2002, the day he reported his wife, Laci, missing.

The sources confirmed to Court TV that the boat will be brought to the courthouse and jurors will see it Monday.

The request to see the boat came as the panel completed a third day of deliberations without reaching a verdict. The six men and six women have weighed evidence for nearly 19 hours. They will spend the weekend sequestered at a hotel, but they are not permitted to discuss the case until they return to the jury room at about 8 a.m. Monday.

Story continues ........

Beth Karas says that their reporter for the internet, Harriet, observed something yesterday that they did not report and nobody else noticed: Yesterday Juror #7 looked at the defense table. It appeared to be a sympathetic look and now #7 is gone.

Beth hung around for a few seconds after jury left the room just now and saw Geragos was all smiles. Juror #1 looked like she just woke up from a nap.

Well!

Juror #7, Asian woman who wouldn't buckle under pressure, is gone and replaced with alternate #1 who is a bank employee with 9 tatoos. Someone on Court TV observed #7 look at defense table yesterday looking a bit sympathetic. Don't understand why removing her would cause Snot to smile when he walked into the court with Geragos.

pies IF alternate #1 or strawberry shortcake gets on the jury, I doubt she'll be as stubborn as this last twit!! I hope this woman is charged with Jury tampering or something. What a collosal waste of money for the already overburdened California courts!!

Vinnie got the info via Blackberry from someone in the courtroom (Nancy or Harriet). It's a reliable observation, but I agree, it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Maybe Scott was picking his nose.

GOOD - Good riddance to rotten rubbish!! I really have to say when you go over these profiles, there are jurors on that jury that I can't believe made it onto a jury. At least it shows me that it is likely 11 to 1 in favour of conviction. SS won't be as stubborn as this one.

Agree. Juror #1 may not be as stubborn but the fact that Geragos and Snot are smiling doesn't sit well with me. Could it be that #7 couldn't be swayed from rendering a guilty verdict?

Media hyped this once again. We're now hearing that the Rochas were not enroute to the courthouse.

"They just replaced a juror!"

I heard it on Fox, but thanks for keeping me in the loop.

Does this make it more or less likely that this murdering SOB will nailed for his crime?

Rochas said they weren't summoned to court, just coincidence that so many family people were there.

Kimberly Newsome (can never look at her without thinking of her disgraceful husband) reports the families were never summoned to the courtroom. Those who showed up happened to be close by.
