This is breaking. A high speed chase around Sierra Vista and on to Ft. Huachuca has resulted in 7 deaths and 14 injuries.
A stolen car with 5 people inside led police on a high speed chase along the Highway 90 bypass and on to Ft. Huachuca at speeds in excess of 100MPH.
The stolen vehicle hit new barricades at the East Gate Checkpoint and crossed over the median, striking an outbound vehicle.
4 people in the stolen car have died, and 3 other people are also dead. 14 people are injured.
There are no further details regarding the 3 dead or the injured. As the story develops, I will try to post more.

I just had a scare...my wife told me that my son just went to the commissary. He made it back out before the accident.
You're right. Innocents are dead because of a criminal's stupidity. And those innocents may be soldiers, or a soldier's family...

I think you need to pull your head out of your butt instead of attacking all who disagree with you Mr wizard. Unless you can show me where I gave you reason to think I felt either way about it I think you owe me and a few others an apology.

I'm sorry. There is no published report.
This is Sierra Vista, AZ and Ft. Huachuca. The crash occured on military property. It may have - probably did - involve military police or civilian gate guards, as well.

The football player was on the Thruway, the only way off is through exits. The cops could have gotten his license plate number and picked him up when he got off the exit after he had cooled down. The cops caused him to get burned alive and could have killed any number of other people on the Thruway that day. The whole situation was ridiculous.

It looks like noone saw the AZ keyword in the topics? Or was that added later? This is getting ridiculous.

No, no, no. Airborne weapons are too inaccurate. The last thing you want is for the LAPD to have Apaches.
The slip-and-fall lawyers would have a field day with the first stray round to injure a bystander.

Post 27 doesn't prove anything. Lights and siren = STOP it doesn't matter where. If the cops thinks its unsafe to stop they would instruct over the bullhorn to move to some other place.
They said stop. He should have stopped. Its THAT simple.

I was stationed at Fort Huachuca 1963-65. At that time, Sierra Vista was a fairly small town outside Huachuca. Now it's a city of approximately 40,000 with, among other things, a gated community.
I can see where this could be a joyride thing from some of the locals. If it was illegals, I'm trying to figure out why they would be heading to Huachuca, unless they had no idea where they were. Which, if they were illegals, would make some sense.
I'll be interested in reading more details when they are available.

*The whole situation was ridiculous*
Sez you...
The bottom line is this little angel of a "football player" should have pulled over in the first place; had he done so, he might still be walking around upright to this day. HE, not the police, not gremlins under the hood or the Queen of May, is responsible for the unfortunate outcome that caused his death. HE precipitated the events that led directly to his demise.
Peddle the silliness elsewhere, M007. I ain't buying.
