It's pretty obvious he's given this topic a lot of thought. What I was getting at was instant ire doesn't get anywhere. If someone wants change, they'd need to do something proactive rather than try to work everyone up into a scared frenzy after the fact. That's exactly the kind of thing terrorists dream of. As far as ruling out hunting rifles, I don't. I would expect every American to take up arms against anyone who threatens our freedom . . . including someone who would imprison us for our own safety.
