All we do know is that it exists and that it is not unlike the literally hundreds of other similar anecdotes found in Lamon's papers.

Similar as in Lincoln ordering an arrest or similar as in Lamon ignoring Lincoln's instructions?

Similar as in Lamon wrote down all sorts of anecdotes on the day to day activities he participated in during the Lincoln administration. Most are believed to have been for the book he was working on at the time of his death with the completed ones having been published posthumously by his daughter.

The similarity between the Murphy case and Lamon's report about Taney is found in Lincoln's use of the military to obstruct judicial proceedings against him.
