Miami;

A man is being held by police investigating a series of rapes in the Miami, Florida, area, police confirmed Saturday.

The suspect -- identified as Reynaldo Elias Rapalo, a 32-year-old Honduran, who was in the country illegally was taken into custody Friday night in the East Little Havana neighborhood of Miami.

"There is a fingerprint and DNA match and an eyewitness has identified this individual," Police Chief John Timoney, of Miami Police Department, said.

"The rapist has plagued this city for exactly a year," Timoney added.

Police believe one man may have been responsible for up to eight attacks, including rapes and attempted rapes, Miami officials said.

The victims have been as young as 11 and as old as 77. If charged and convicted Rapalo could face life in prison, authorities said.

The woman was assaulted by a man earlier this month in a laundry room, authorities said. She screamed for help, and one of her relatives came to the scene. The relative was bitten by the attacker before he escaped, authorities said.

Blame it on Baca and California

Uh, Joseph, got some news for you, thousands of violent crimes happen every day, and gasp they are committted by whites, blacks, asians, and hispanics.

There are bad people in every race. I wish not to judge an individual by the color of their skin, as you and Jesse Jackson are wont to do, but by the content of their character.
