Ah, you "presume" that you know what he's talking about.

Do you "presume" that Wesley Clark has a clue about how to fight a war? I mean, after all, it was his job once. Just because it was his job doesn't mean that he was competent at it. Kindly note that Mr. Carter headed the Border Patrol during the explosion of illegal immigration.

It is not really presumtious to assume the head of the border patrol who worked his way up from an agent knew more about his job than you do.

I have no idea how many illegals crossed during his time but he made the point that his budget was far too small to do the job. This was either on "meet the press" or a similar show. It was many years ago but I was impressed with his straight forward answers.
