Er... not sure I should be admitting this in open forum, but back when I was in the military a girlfriend of mine bought some male "pocket" stripper undies for me. Thong backside on them. I'll admit it took a bit of getting used to, but not more so than a jockstrap.
Definately allowed for a lot more... er... breathability.
