Well, I have a few years on you. Worth going when you can, though. After October 1st it's less expensive, but cooler & wetter.

I was completely floored to run into Mons Meg in Edinburgh castle. Here was this famous old cannon I'd read about -- I hadn't known they'd found it and put it on display there.

But we got to see many points of interest, several castles, the site of famous School of Piping on Skye (where the art was kept alive), the very sad Cullodem Moor...

Never heard of Mons Meg.
Then again, I learned most
history (Scottish & English
anyway) from mom & she's
never heard of it either.
