I felt a lot better once the NG got there and began to patrol at night, but where I was, I was isolated...no phone, and no car at the time...I didn't DARE go outside!
I had never even HEARD of an ice storm but I saw my first one there, on the shores of Lake Michigan. I've seen a couple since then, but I'm hoping they are a thing of the past for me.
Especially since I'm heading for Tucson, soon! :-)
LOL! I'm so used to snow and ice that it's no big deal for me to drive it it anymore. Several years ago when I was living in the northern part of the state, I had to drive through bad conditions. It started out raining, then a half hour later, it turned to sleet. Then a while later it turned into a blizzard that was so bad I could barely see in front of me and I couln't see much of the road. I still managed to arrive safely somehow...
I stayed indoors for 3 days, watching TV nonstop.
I learned to drive in snow when I was a kid, so driving in it was no biggy, but I hate the cold. I hate the ice, because I fall a lot. So I try not to be where the cold, snow and ice are...you can have my share, ok?
:)
I did that, too. I think I was in shock, because I had had such an intense WARNING to get home, off the streets. If I had gone to the interview, I most likely would not have made it home, as I was dependent on the buses.
So yah...I was glued to the TV, too.
LOL!
Buses? In LA?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You really were from out if town.
"Buses? In LA?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You really were from out if town."
My "squeeze" was on leave, and took the truck, so I had to fend for myself.
Well, I better go clean for a while. At least I'll get something accomplished today, then. LOL! I'll be back later. :-)
This is the -Undead Thread- on its way to The Ultimate LimitTM: Last Post #65535. |
"'Face, overdressed? I've seen about everything but suits here. Even a sweater."
*snort*
I think I'm the only person in a warm climate to put on a jacket or sweater to go INDOORS!
I think I also expected to see you in shorts! Sorry! *snicker!*
Cleaning is no fun...I used to get up earlier on weekends when I was working than I did during the week, because I wanted to enjoy the sunshine!
I got my laundry done, then cleaned house, and was done by 8:00 so the entire weekend was MINE!!! :-)
l8er!
So, I'll just assume that you don't want to be a part of building the "ice cannon" in Antarctica, okay?
But I'll keep your name on the list for after we get the mirror in place and get rid of all the ice.
Okay, we won't get rid of all the ice, just most of it. I anticipate that the interior of the continent should warm up nicely, but I'm going to leave the Antarctic Peninsula as a wildlife preserve, and let that area "enjoy" the normal shading that occurs for six months at a time.
huzzah!
I'm happy with ice and snow if:
I don't have to drive on/in it;
I don't have to waslk on/in it;
I don't have to shovel it;
I have plenty of furs or other items, methods, persons, et al to help keep the chill away...
:)
I think I'm alone now...
There doesn't seem to be anyone around
I think I'm alone now
