1) Arlen Specter tried to destroy Bush's tax cuts. I don't know what fantasy world you live in, but in the real world, Arlen Specter voted for every Democrat amendment meant to cut the size and effectiveness of the tax cut, and in fact he was the one who proposed putting triggers on the tax cut--abolishing them if revenues dropped--that would have rendered it meaningless.

2) Arlen Specter has since vowed to never again vote for a Clarence Thomas, has assured pro-abortion groups that he would have a pro-abortion litmus test on all future nominees, and that if he could do it over again he would have voted against Thomas.
