Yes, but by pushing Bush to the right in an election year, he may be losing the precious middle of the road voters.

Conservative voters should have enough sense to know that Bush is on their side and support him -- after all, as I keep pointing out, to the mentally blind and deaf, if Bush doesn't win, a Democrat will.

Bush is going to lose middle of the road voters by cutting back on spending growth and thereby reducing the deficit?

I think they're still waiting for evidence of that ('free' pills for the Greedy Geezer vote-buying scam, huge increases in spending/debt, steel tariffs, Welfare Farmer subsidies, etc. etc. etc. more more more, spend spend spend), and time is running out for Bush.

Exactly! There are no third parties that are going to win and staying home and not voting for Bush on "principle" is just a vote for the democrats.

All words are wasted on the un-appeasables you see here on the forum.

The principled nature of their stance makes any change a defeat. They have painted themselves into a corner and they wanted to do so.

"he may be losing the precious middle of the road voters."

Your nagging platitudes are inoperative as there isn't going to be a "middle block" this time! Demos are convinced they was robbed in 2000 and fiscal conservative are beginning to see we're being robbed ever since!!!

The President is a victim of his own success in the WOT and a tin ear toward those who think the "new tone" thing is a figament of his imagination, which it is!!!

People rarely forgive the insult of being taken for granted, then the insult of being accused of disloyalty for simply throwing up their hands at not being listened to.

The 'precious middle' in my state and largely in Ohio as well is the "Reagan Democrat". Pro-life, pro-gun, anti-Nafta, Anti-Gatt, somewhat pro-union, and for low taxes.

These blue collar voters is the ticket to victory, not the Jersey soccer mom.

If you never push your candidate to the right, then he'll get the message you want him to go to the left. That's the way any political consultant will read it.

Actually, most of us would be happy if Bush moved to the Middle. His immigration proposal and massive spending have put him to the LEFT of the divide.
