The title of this thread:
Bush reaches out to conservatives to quell revolt
Post your list all you want, there have been ample warnings that Bush's leftist positions on things like spending, Prescription Drugs and Amnesty would cost him votes. The warnings had and have merit, and Bush and his loyalists were not wise to ignore them. Now he's reaching out to quell revolts.
Why? Because he messed up.
But keep posting those lists, and clench your fists that not all voters see things as you do, and that their votes count as much as yours does. Let your knuckles go white with resentment that the people Bush wanted to take for granted did not all want to be taken for granted.
What will it get you?
Bush needs to renounce all forms of Amnesty for Illegal Aliens, for starters, in order to win back certain wavering constituencies. Unfortunately he's damaged the trust in him on this issue, and all of the "Bush's plan is bad, but Kerry's Amnesty would be worse" arguments aren't going to motivate those constituents to turn out, many of whose votes were Bush's to lose.
