A NOTE TO MY FELLOW CONSERVATIVES:
Your silence regarding Rush Limbaugh is excruciating.
I like Rush, too, and given that he and I have the same employer, I'm not exactly improving my career prospects by being consistent. It's a bad habit I picked up after years of listening to, and admiring, Rush Limbaugh.
And if we learned the lessons of Limbaugh (individual responsibility and the rule of law), how can we now agree to "Clintonize" ourselves defending him? A drug addiction is one thing, but blackmail? He's allowed himself to be blackmailed for years--the same years he was rightly pounding the stuffing out of the Clintons? And now he claims he's the victim of a politically-motivated prosecution?
What's next: "The b**** set me up?"
Of all the disappointing decisions Rush has made, these last two are the most disheartening. Consider for a moment what blackmail is: An admission that you know what you're doing is wrong.
The decision to fork over the cash is just that--a decision. It can't be any less difficult to make that decision than to decide to, say, go to your lawyer, spill your guts and spend a month in detox at Charter. So why not choose to do the RIGHT thing?
But that's not what Rush chose to do. He chose instead to continue, for years, to do the wrong thing and then--after he was caught--blame the consequences on the vast, left-wing conspiracy. As Rush himself said very wisely and correctly when Jim Carville made the same argument defending President O.J., "It doesn't matter what Ken Starr's politics are if you're innocent."
Bill Clinton wasn't an innocent victim of political vendettas. He was a perjurer and obstructer of justice who blamed others for his own lack of character and its consequences.
Which means, my fellow conservatives, that Rush Limbaugh is....?

Really? Do you wonder how many people actually believe you buy dope from active duty marines? As has been pointed out to you, the quality of troops has dramatically changed since the days when the military had to accept people like you to fill their ranks.
Myself, I'd love to watch you approach a Marine today and try to score some dope. Granted, the hospital would probably give you some heavy duty stuff afterwards.

To put it in a simple answer, which of course you won't understand, YES, I can assure you that those active duty Marines do care about my opinion of their honor. You see, I respect them, which obviously you do not. And if you expect people to believe that active duty Marines are selling you dope then you really should cut back on whatever it is you're taking...it won't fly.
Go on then...name your active duty Marine dope suppliers...back up your statements. I'm sure everyone is holding their breath just waiting for you to reveal how Marines have sunken to your level.
So you're equating severe physical pain with so-called emotional pain in terms of the need for medication?
Person A is down and out and can't handle it. Person B has advanced cancer or severe back problems.
God, I can't believe I'm even having to explain the differences here.
If there is anyone who wishes to debate the issues, I will respond, on the thread. I would like to deal with facts, and not some bigoted, crotchety old man's caustic assaults. I will not be posting to him any more. He is not worth the time, nor energy. His previously avowed intent, on all of these threads, is to be a disrupter, and once again, I have fallen to it. He is worse than a troll.
There seem to be too many folks, like him, with opinions, that are based on nothing more than their pet prejudices.
We are all individuals, given the same measure of grace, before God. As Americans, we were granted Individual rights, which I believe have been usurped, by our modern g'umt, 'for the chil'run'! I, for one, do not wish to live in a 'nanny state'.
I wish to thank those of you for intelligent conversation, and encourage those who desire to present their support, or rejection, of a post, with a little less bile, and a little more reason. I will try again!
Sorry for being gullible. I fell for the trick again, to get my thoughts away from the thread, and on the individual. He just makes an easy target.
We have an individual who claims he buys dope from active duty Marines (plural). This is the Marine Corps of the 60's or even the 80's. Those of you familiar with today's Armed Forces, particularly the Marines, know the difference I'm sure.
