  • Progressive journos hang with Obama: Anything wrong with that?

Now that’s compliance for you. The blackout from these “influential progressives” – as the White House so boosterishly calls them — raises an historic prospect. Could this be the first White House meeting with journalists in which more information about the proceedings came from the White House than from the journalists? After all, the White House did at least issue this statement: “This afternoon at the White House, the President met with influential progressives to talk about the importance of preventing a tax increase on middle class families, strengthening our economy and adopting a balanced approach to deficit reduction.”

Roughly 5 percent of respondents in Reuters/Ipsos polls said they chose the Republican contender in 2008 and will switch to Obama in 2012. Who are these defectors? The McCain-to-Obama switchers are 55 percent male, and 34 percent of them are 55 or older. (Overall, Obama trails Romney 34 percent to 52 percent among white men over 50.) About 72 percent of them are white. They are largely from the East Coast; nearly 4 in 10 live in the mid- or South Atlantic. Nearly 3 in 10 finished their education after high school, and nearly 2 in 10 have a bachelor's...

I went to Hulu and watched the SNL skit of the Obama/Romney debate. They made Romney into the unlikable person, made him say the most outrageously false statements such as he killed Osama bin Laden (Romney lied-straight out of the DNC talking points), and even had Obama being excused for his performance because he was thinking about what gift to get to his wife on their anniversary (such a romantic fellow!) and SNL even made a centerpiece of Al Gore's buffoonish excuse that Obama was affected by the altitude. I just turned off SNL after I watched their skit on...

They won't officially declare the election over, but the experts at the University of Virginia's Center for Politics Thursday declared that President Obama's surge in key battleground state polls has pushed him well over the magic mark of 270 Electoral College votes, meaning his reelection is all but a lock. "We are not calling the race," said the experts, but the polls currently show "a decisive Obama victory." The team of Larry Sabato, Kyle Kondik and Geoffrey Skelley said if the election were held today, Obama would win 290 Electoral Votes, Mitt Romney 204. And the 42 toss-up Electoral Votes...

This election year, so much of the broadcast networks, their cable counterparts, and the major establishment print media are out of control with a deliberate and unmistakable leftist agenda.  To put it bluntly: you are rigging this election and taking sides in order to pre-determine the outcome.  In the quarter century since the Media Research Center was established to document liberal media bias, there has never been a more brazen and complete attempt by the liberal so-called “news” media to decide the outcome of an election. A free and balanced media are crucial to the health of this country. It...

The Romney campaign and other Republicans say polls showing President Obama with a significant lead over their candidate are inaccurate. They argue many mainstream polls skew in Obama’s favor because of sample sizes that base 2012 turnout projections on 2008, when Democrats — and Hispanics, blacks and young voters in particular — turned out in record numbers. “I don’t think [the polls] reflect the composition of what 2012 is going to look like,” Romney pollster Neil Newhouse said in an interview. Frustration that polls are skewed in favor of Obama has escalated among some on the right in recent weeks....
  • Why Most Presidential Horserace Polls Are Rubbish

Go here to read the brilliant rest.  Most presidential horserace polls are assuming a Democrat advantage at the polls this fall of D-7, which is the advantage the Democrats had in 2008.  That simply isn’t going to happen after the failed Obama Presidency.  In 2010 the parties had roughly equal amounts turn out at the polls.  I imagine that the election result this year will range from parity to a D-2 advantage.  Assuming Romney wins the independents, as most polls show him doing, a D-2 electorate would lead to a Romney victory.  Parity would be a Reagan 1980 landslide. http://datechguyblog.com/#!/entry/demoralized-as-hell-the-poll-the-media-isn8217t-talking-about,40362
  • Politico Trades Obama Flacking for White House Scoops

    09/16/2012 6:54:08 PM PDT · by Perdogg · 11 replies
Politico has abandoned any attempt to pose as an objective news source and is now functioning as the unofficial outlet for the Obama campaign, trading pieces they write that promulgate the Obama campaign’s narrative for scoops they get from the White House that either are from “anonymous” sources or access to White House documents. It’s a slimy and a contemptible relationship.

It’s not often that I laugh out loud while reading my e-mail (and that’s not an invitation to forward the jokes from 1996 still circulating, either), but today’s entries left me no choice. No less than three media outlets have scoops about the Mitt Romney campaign this morning that describe changes in strategy and direction. The only problem is that all three contradict each other despite having come from sources inside the campaign.

Zogby: Romney Running Worse Than McCain in ‘08 Thursday, 13 Sep 2012 06:05 PM President Barack Obama received a surprisingly strong bounce after the Democratic National Convention, and now leads GOP challenger Mitt Romney by nearly 6 points according to a new JZ Analytics poll. The national poll of likely voters shows Obama leading 47.7 percent to 42 percent, and indicates that Romney is not polling well enough among some conservative demographic groups: NASCAR fans, evangelicals, and the so-called “Walmart voters.” According to JZ Analytics pollster John Zogby, Romney is in a somewhat worse position than GOP nominee Sen. September 13, 2012 POLL: OBAMA UP 5 IN D+11 POLL Mike Flynn Today's RCP Average of presidential polls show Obama leading Romney by a little more than 3 points. A big reason for this is the abundance of polls featuring heavily Democrat skews in their samples. Juice the numbers enough and you can show just about any Obama lead you want. Garbage in, garbage out, as they say. A good example of this is today's Democracy Corps poll. It shows Obama with a 5-point lead over Romney. Of course, the sample for the poll is D+11. Now, I get tired...

The stuff that we didn't get to yesterday was just overflowing, the audio sound bites, and it has given me a new resolve. We're loaded again today. It's just incredible. We're watching the disintegration of two institutions right in front of our eyes, and we're all wondering, are we the only ones who see it? We're watching the disintegration of a presidency. We are looking at blatant, uncompromised incompetence. And we are witnessing corruption of another institution, the so-called mainstream media....

The era of fact-checkers being trusted as honest brokers might be over, but that doesn't mean they won't do what the equally irrelevant mainstream media does: double down in their spewing of narrative-lies and propaganda to aid and abet the left. Case in point, Politifact. Politiact is the worst of the mainstream media's dishonest fact-checkers (no small feat). They're the ones who ruled as true the absolute lie that Obama increased federal spending at a lower rate than any other modern president. Because there is no bottom to how low Politifact will go, Politifact is now brazenly lying by awarding a...

In the presidential contest, registered voters give a slight edge to the incumbent, with 45% saying they intend to support Barack Obama in this year’s election compared to 41% for Mitt Romney. That advantage narrows to 46% – 45% among American voters who are considered the most likely to vote at this time. In June, Obama’s lead in the Monmouth University Poll was 46% to 42% among registered voters and 47% to 46% among likely voters. Independent voters are split – 40% for Romney to 37% for Obama. Obama claims 87% support among Democrats and Romney has 87% of the...
