“Gallup will not conduct daily tracking surveys for a second night, Tuesday, Oct. 30, due to the ongoing effects of superstorm Sandy and will continue to reassess the situation on a day-to-day basis,” read a statement from the organization. “Gallup will provide an update on Wednesday about plans from that point forward.”

Might be for the best. I'm about polled-out at this point.

You can bet that both Romney and Obama are full-speed ahead with their internal polling and their actions will show how that is going.

So we have Obama hunkered down in "Rose Garden" mode and Romney's moving resources into PA and MN. I think that tells you all you need to know.

I still remember with much fondness Ronald Reagan's final campaign stop in 1984 in Rochester, Minnesota . . . just in time for the 10 p.m. news in our market.

A shift of 2500 votes would have meant a historic 50 state sweep, but Reagan didn't make an earlier campaign stop because his priority was on electing people downticket.

My wife and I were newlyweds that year. Shortly after our morning whoopie, Dad calls and asks "Did you hear they caught both those guys?"

"Both what guys?" I ask sheepishly.

"Both those guys who voted for Mondale!" chuckled Dad.

National polling is pointless at this time anyway. I suspect everyone is focused on the 5-6 states that matter. And the additional blue ones that now seem to be in play.
