A majority of Americans have a negative view of Islam after the terrorist attacks in Paris and California, including a majority of Democrats. Fifty-eight percent of Americans now have an unfavorable opinion of Islam, according to the latest YouGov/Huffpost poll of Americans. Authorities in Niger have detained 17 people, including wives of senior politicians, suspected of being involved in a baby-trafficking network, two legal sources said on Thursday. The arrests follow an investigation by Niger's police into 30 people suspected of acquiring new-born babies from "baby factories" in neighbouring Nigeria.
