I can't get into anything Google: mail, Youtube, translate, etc. I looked at the settings in chrome and it said that google.com was blocked but I don't see how to unblock it. I don't think it's a chrome setting because it doesn't work on any browser. My default browser is Brave. I use Kaspersky for virus protection. Is this a firewall problem? A Windows 10 problem? It just started yesterday.

Many website forums have a feature allowing the poster to edit his/her post after having hit "send". Some only allow edits within "x" minutes of posting, others have no limit. I wonder if FR could have such a feature. I,like some here,am a two fingered typist who makes more than his share of errors (thanks to my old brain cells dying off)...and they're usually discovered not long after having hit "send". If it's not difficult...or expensive...to set up I hope FR will do it.

As the jury was deliberating Tuesday the fate of ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, another police-involved shooting was taking place in Columbus, Ohio. Body camera footage showed the shooting victim, 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant, charging at another female armed with what appears to be a knife. An officer shot Bryant four times before she collapsed to the ground. She died at the hospital after being taken there in critical condition. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James reacted to the news on Twitter, in a now-deleted tweet, by sharing an image of the officer involved in the fatal shooting of Bryant, and...

NBA officials and players were quick to react as former police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murdering George Floyd in the United States. The jury deliberated for 10 hours before arriving at a unanimous verdict, finding Chauvin guilty on all three counts: second degree unintentional murder, third degree murder and second degree manslaughter. The videotaped final moments off Floyd’s life last May sparked protests around the globe, and particularly in the NBA as players protested against racial injustice and police brutality. NBA commissioner Adam Silver and National Basketball Players Association executive director Michele Roberts released a joint statement...

"The act of participating in our country's election process is our civic responsibility and instrumental to our country's foundation. We should promote increasing voter turnout as opposed to any measures that adversely impact the ability to cast a ballot. In November, the Marlins proudly set out to promote the vote with our Election Day Feed the Polls initiative, providing meals to voters as our local election officials conducted free and fair elections. We support the Commissioner's decision to stand up for the values of our game and not hold this year's All-Star Game in the state of Georgia."

LEBRON James will be out indefinitely after suffering a high ankle sprain, the Los Angeles Lakers announced on Saturday. James, 36, suffered the injury during Saturday's game against the Atlanta Hawks and reportedly shouted in an uncharacteristic show of pain. The Hawks' Soloman Hill fell on James' ankle while trying to steal the ball, which left the 18-year NBA veteran howling in pain on the court. On his way to the locker room, James knocked a chair over in frustration, ESPN reported. He was reportedly given X-rays and an MRI on his right ankle after the game. "I haven't necessarily...

The slur goes something like "you had one job to do", but because I'm a geek, immersed in IT and knowledgeable about webmaster things, I know it's a spoke in a wheel. But when there's a Copyright List that every responsible FReeper goes to when posting from a source which isn't familiar, there's a reasonable expectation that following what's stated on the Copyright List page is correct. I, for one, have MUCH BETTER things to do than to spend the time - repeatedly - posting something to FR only to have the message pop up "Post blocked due to copyright...

MSNBC host Joy Reid has declared NBA star LeBron James to be “today’s equivalent of Muhammad Ali,” in recognition of his social justice activism. Reid took to Twitter to lionize the billionaire basketball player and put him on par with Ali, a man who truly fought for civil rights. But to make her tweet even more absurd, she added a clip of fictional superhero Black Panther to it, apparently sending the signal that James is a “hero.” “‘ll say it again. LeBron James is today’s Muhammad Ali and Bill Russell, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Glad he has that platform. Keep speaking,...

Swedish soccer legend had ripped Los Angeles Lakers superstar for being too political ---------------- LeBron James fired back at Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swedish soccer legend ripped the Los Angeles Lakers superstar on Thursday for being too political. In an interview with Discovery+, Ibrahimovic said it’s "a mistake" for James and other athletes to get involved with politics. "Just do what you do best, because it doesn’t look good," Ibrahimovic said. Following the Lakers’ 102-93 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night, James responded to Ibrahimovic, saying the soccer star didn't feel the same way talking about social...

Hello, I was unsure how to get in touch so I thought this might get a mod's attention. It seems my posts are now being held back. If I have violated a rule I am sorry. If posting less can restore what I consider to be a great website that would be great. I believe in your mission and as a monthly donor put my money where bandwidth is, so to speak. Happy to back off posting a little, it's just your site is a little addictive. Did not mean to upset.

I have emailed NEWSMAX about the terrible closed captioning on their programs describing how President Reagan words to Gorbachev were rendered as: "Mr. Gorbachev, SHARE this wall." Yesterday, the ad urging people who had taken Zantac or the generic and developed cancer to call a number, the generic, ranitidine, was rendered as "RAN INTO DEAN." Just now Mike Huckabee was introduced as "MY CARD. MMM-HMM. Would appreciate it if others would complain about this gibberish. Otherwise I think NEWSMAX is terrific. But there are people out here that would like to watch it and are hearing impaired. So could use...

Screen print of Parler's captcha not recognizing my input. This after over 50 rejections of what I typed in. So I tried to join Parler. Their requirements for a password are as follows, Use eight or more characters with at least one capital letter, lowercase letter, number, and special character. So I did as they required. Yet, I was denied my chosen password 35 times before they accepted this password, !9-chucK-56 Which begs the question, why did they deny this one, !9-Chuck-20 Or this one 19Chuck-an-!2 Now consider this password they suggested I use aCb-1fd3-Q!&m Yet they rejected over 35...

I have been posting articles on FR off and on for 22 years, and in that time I have become very good at using HTML to create the type of posts I like. Yet ever since FR changed the carrier of the site, none of my links work on articles I post. I have not changed what I use as HTML code, it's just that what I use does not work on FR any more. And not only links, but much of the HTML on my profile page is all screwed up as well. Is there a logical reason for...

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is known for being a great basketball player. Beyond that, he also seemingly tries to make a positive impact on the world through his various charities and organizations. By all accounts he is a generous person. However, one issue continues to arise – his tipping practices.

Hello Fellow FReepers, I have been posting several articles via their HTML source. I notice that apostrophes are not being rendered correctly after the article is posted. I see two square marks in the place of the apostrophes. Does anybody notice the same weird thing?

It's fine until I tune into Free Republic, and then the screen goes upside down, or sideways, or twirls around willy nilly. Or it starts scrolling down uncontrollably and then shutting the page I'm on, and it keeps doing this even after I leave freep. Anyone else getting this problem?
